Which calibrated plate package is right for your gym?

All three packages include the smaller weights. The difference is how many 25kg plates you have available for heavier training.

Which calibrated plate package is right for your gym?

A bigger weight total is useful only if the plates behind it suit your training. When comparing Axiom's 157.5kg, 307.5kg and 407.5kg calibrated packages, start with the shared foundation: each includes a pair of 1.25kg, 2.5kg, 5kg, 10kg, 15kg and 20kg plates.

The difference is the number of 25kg plates. That makes the choice easier to understand: keep the smaller sizes for varied loading, then choose how much additional heavy weight your space needs.

Exactly what is included?

The quantities below are numbers of individual plates. All three packages contain plates only; a barbell is not included.

157.5kg: a pair of every listed weight

The 157.5kg package gives you one pair of every size from 1.25kg through to 25kg. It is the natural place to start your comparison when equipping one training station or adding a complete range of calibrated weights to an existing setup.

Write down the plate weight you need for your normal sessions, remembering to account separately for the bar's own weight. If 157.5kg of plates comfortably covers those sessions, this package gives you the full weight range without adding extra pairs of 25kg plates.

307.5kg: more weight for heavier sessions

The 307.5kg package has four pairs of 25kg plates in total. That is three extra pairs compared with the 157.5kg package, adding 150kg while keeping the smaller plate selection unchanged.

Consider it when your planned sessions exceed the smaller package's plate total, or when you want additional heavy plates available across a training space. If two people regularly train at once, check their actual plate combinations: more 25kg plates does not give you more pairs of the smaller sizes.

407.5kg: the largest heavy-plate allocation

The 407.5kg package includes six pairs of 25kg plates, representing 300kg of its total weight. It adds another two pairs of 25kg plates to the 307.5kg package.

This is the option to compare when you need the greatest quantity of heavy plates in this range. Plan storage and where those plates will be used as part of the purchase. A package total describes the equipment supplied, not the permitted load of a bar, rack or floor.

Make the choice around your setup

Before deciding, note your bar's sleeve size and usable loading space, the weight combinations used in your sessions, and whether plates will be shared between stations. These calibrated plates are listed for standard 50mm Olympic sleeves. For several busy stations, extra smaller plates may matter as much as the overall package weight.

Quick questions

Can I add individual plates later?

Yes. The individual calibrated listings offer weights from 1.25kg to 25kg, subject to availability. They are sold individually, so order two of a weight for a pair, or eight for four pairs.

Which finishes can I choose?

The package listings have Gold, Oil Slick and Chrome options. Gold and Oil Slick are currently available to pre-order for expected December 2026 dispatch; Chrome is unavailable and is not part of that shipment. Arctic Blue is available through the individual plate listing, rather than these three packages.
